Appointments

To allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures, we operate primarily by appointment. Emergency cases shall always receive top priority, which is why occasional appointment delay is inevitable. Please realize that we make a sincere attempt to see each client on time.

For your convenience, ‘drop-off’ appointments are available. A ‘drop off’ means you could bring your pet at the time that works best for you and leave him/her with us for a couple of hours. Usually we will ask you to drop off sometime in the morning so our doctors can examine the patient in between appointments or at the time purposely reserved for admitted patients. Once the doctor is done, she will give you a call to go over the diagnosis and to give you discharge instructions.

We ask that for any type of appointment, please bring in everything you are administering to your pet: medications (prescription and over-the-counter), nutritional supplements, and so on. Just put it all in a bag and we will go through it, verifying that we know what you are giving at home, doses, potential drug interactions, and so on.
For the safety of all animals in our care, we require that all vaccinations be up to date insofar as possible.

Our staff has gone through extensive training in Low-Stress, Fear-free Handling, which makes TBVH unique among practices. We want your pet to love coming to see us! Be aware that for dogs, we occasionally use peanut butter to incentivize and distract; if you or anyone in your family has a peanut allergy, please let us know in advance!

Even though we make every effort to make our patients feel comfortable during visits, they may still be a little uneasy about new people, new surroundings and other pets. If either you or we feel that the experience is too stressful, we will recommend tranquilizing or sedating; in some cases this might require rescheduling the visit after you have administered medication at home.

Cats can sometimes present a special challenge…they start to get nervous when you get the carrier out! (and we do ask that all cats come to the hospital in a carrier). Good news is that there is help to make the entire process of coming to see us less anxiously – for both you and your cat! See this video for the fundamentals – and like Angel Memorial, TBVH hospitals are Certified Cat Friendly Hospitals: http://www.catvets.com/public/PDFs/ClientBrochures/Cat-to-VetHandout.pdf, and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zkcyyVtIwwo

We do ask that dogs be kept on a leash or in pet carriers before entering the waiting room.

Payment Policy

We do require full payment at the time that services are rendered. For your convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, cash, personal checks, and CareCredit (www.carecredit.com).
